What started as a chance encounter grew into an idea.
What started as a chance encounter grew into an idea.
It all began in 2025 with a trip to Ghana. After graduating from high school, Nadine's son Lucas spent a month volunteering in Ghana. During his time there, he met Eric—a meeting that sparked a personal connection reaching far beyond his four-week stay. When Nadine and her younger son traveled to Ghana to bring Lucas home, she wanted to experience firsthand the country he had shared so much about. Together, they traveled across Ghana, exploring different places, meeting the locals, and experiencing a country that left a lasting impression on them. Ghana felt truly special: warm, vibrant, authentic, and in many places, still untouched by conventional tourism.

From our conversations with Eric and our own experiences on the ground, the idea for GHANA FIRSTHAND was born together with Paulina: to create stays that are personal, well-supported, and truly authentic.
